WHO SAYS BUSINESS AND PLEASURE DON'T MIX?

Mixing business with pleasure can bring tremendous advantages. And there's no better place to do it than Matthews Yard tucked away in Croydon.
This famous cultural and community hub has a fabulous cafe and hosts regular exhibitions, acts, comedy, film and along with important tech events so you can work, chill out or do a bit of both.

Croydon - a great place to succeed.

Why Croydon is working for Tech

The Croydon tech scene is booming at the moment having seen a 38% increase in new tech, digital and creative businesses set up in the area since 2011. This boom has been created by a combination of the supportive and dynamic start-up ecosystem created by Croydon Tech City and Croydon's unique mix of excellent office space, new business rate relief and solid broadband infrastructure.

Jonny Rose Founder, Croydon Tech City

We can’t find Croydon in New York City. Nowhere can we get to town or an airport that quickly. Having signed another lease, dotmailer are committed to Croydon for the long term.

Skip Fidura Global Client Services Director, dotmailer

Croydon seemed to be an interesting, up-and-coming area with lots of construction and regeneration work going on. It also has terrific transport links, which is important as we do a lot of business in the City.

Rand Tomter Solium

The transport connections to Croydon are fantastic. This has enabled us to attract talented staff from London, Brighton and the surrounding area.

Terry Haynes CEO, HotGen

Over the past 15 months we’ve taken on an extra seven people; there are now 20 of us working here and most are either from Croydon or a little further out.

Pete Doyle Chief Operating Officer, Inalytics

It makes sense for us to be here in Croydon – the rates are better and there’s an easy commute to Central London if we need it, but most of our team come from South London. We have everything we need here in Croydon and we’re encouraged by the thriving tech community – I see no reason to leave

Adam McCann MD, Pro G Media

Outgrowing our old premises meant that we had to find a southern UK base with easy transport connections and good catchment area for staffing, where we could put down some roots for expansion. We looked as far down as Brighton and assessed other London locations, but Croydon in the end was an easy choice -  it is clear that there is a new energy about the place.

Adrian Evans Chief Operating Officer, Natterbox

Croydon’s transport links are excellent; it boasts a huge catchment area and, importantly, is affordable. However, creating a place to work is equally as important and the growing tech cluster, the excellent Matthew’s Yard and thriving events scene is a real attraction for Smarta.

Matt Thomas COO, Smarta

BATTER - BY FAR!

If you love all types of food you’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that McDermotts holds a Best Restaurant Award for its traditional Fish & Chips and Karnavar is one of the UK’s top 10 best Indian restaurants. And what’s more they’re both in Croydon.

Croydon - a great place to succeed.
